Welcome English is a project coordinated and funded by the Sisters of Mercy. At present 250 students are registered at the centre. Welcome English began in October 2000 and since that time the number of students and volunteer tutors have continued to grow.

English classes are offered free of charge to people seeking Asylum and to those who have succeeded in getting Refugee Status. English is taught by very committed and experienced tutors. The language is taught at five different levels ranging from Beginner to Advanced.

Classes are offered Monday to Friday from 10.30am - 12.30 and from 2pm to 4pm.

Each session includes a coffee break. This gives students the opportunity to meet, interact with one another and to make new friends.
